Hace poco tiempo nos mudamos a un nuevo departamento. La primera cosa que hice fue cambiar el empapelado y poner piso de madera en lugar de alfombra para evitar las alergias. No soy experta en fotografía pero quedé muy impresionada con el trabajo del chileno Tomás Munita quien ha hecho de esta profesión un verdadero arte. Sus imágenes son conmovedoras y bellas. Su estética, impecable. Logra mostrar con belleza situaciones extremas manteniendo un cuidadoso equilibrio entre el interés del cazador de historias y el respeto a la dignidad del otro. Hoy tuve la oportunidad de conversar con uno de los dueños de la tienda Luzco. Jan Bruchfeld es diseñador industrial y 7 años atras (2004) fundó con su esposa esta entretenida tienda actualmente ubicada en Alonso de Cordova 3980, Santiago y en el Parque Arauco. Partiendo de una necesidad popia de encontrar cosas lindas para su casa, convirtieron su pasión por el diseño en una aventura comercial al traer a Chile objetos entretenidos y útiles. Su amor por el buen diseño no dejó de lado la preocupación por tener precios razonables. Quizás lo más lindo de esta tienda es que cada pieza invita a ser descubierta y destacan por un diseño de lineas simples y modernas. A mi me alegra especialmente el poder ver que se incorporan en Chile una oferta que podrá ser muy común en Europa (sobre todo en los países nórdicos) pero que hasta hace poco era bien escaza por aqui. Este fin de semana redescubri el Barrio Italia. He ido muchas veces pero encontré nuevas tiendas y rincones. Me recordó en gran medida los inicios de Palermo, en Buenos Aires. ¿Recomendaciones? Llegar a eso de las 11.00 hrs y caminar por sus calles con paso tranquilo. Almorzar un rico pescad o en Santa Bohemia** y dejarse tentar por algun anticuario o diseño moderno. This weekend I rediscoveres Italia neighbourhood. I have been there many times but in this occasion I found new stores and places. It reminded me the starting time of Palermo, in Buenos Aires. Recommendations? Arrive around 11.00 a.m. and walk its streets in a slow pace. Have for lunch a nice fish in Santa Bohemia** and let yourself be temped by an antique shop or some modern design. Caminando por Avenida Italia no pude dejar de encontrar creativa la forma en que esta tienda diseñó su local. Lamentablemente estaba cerrada por lo que al regresar a casa me pregunté que tipo de proyectos o productos venderían y por suerte los encontré en la web. Tuve la oportunidad de visitar la oficina de Francisca y siempre me deleita con el ingenio que aplica a sus espacios. Moderno y antiguo se mezclan en el segundo piso de esta casa en Providencia. El sábado estuve caminando por Caupolican y alrededores y me llevé una grata sorpresa con la gran cantidad de diseñadores nuevos que están haciendo del Barrio Italia un gran lugar para visitar. Aqui les presento a Pro2, del diseñador industrial Nicolás Hernández. Sus objetos se basan en un concepto simple e inteligente que permite que desarmados ocupen muy poco lugar y además pueden ser configurados (en el caso de la lámpara y el rack de vinos) al gusto de cada uno. On Saturday I spent some time walking around Cupolican Street and I was gladly surprised with the quantity of new designers that are transforming the neighbourhood in a great place to visit. Here I introduce you to Pro2, by industrial designer Nicolas Hernandez. Sin duda el diseño industrial frances en su máxima expresión. Me encanta la simplicidad de sus líneas. Xavier Pauchard (1880-1948) fue un visionario que en 1927 registró la marca Tolix, cuya compañía hoy esta en las manos de una mujer Chantal Andriot. No puedo dejar de imaginarme un loft con piezas asi. Me encantaria tener varias de ellas en mi casa. Se escapa del presupuesto lamentablemente... Al llegar a Vancouver me llamó la atención la preocupación que la ciudad canadiense ha tenido de hacer de su aeropuerto una experiencia grata al visitante. Al transitar uno escucha el sonido de los pájaros, puede apreciar su arte y naturaleza. Ojalá más aeropuertos se sumaran en diseñar sus espacios pensando en la experiencia del viajero. When arriving to Vancouver I was surprised to see how carefully the Canadian city has designed its airport in a way that it can provide a nive experience to the visitor. When walking through it you can listen to the sound of birds and appreciate its art and nature. I wish more airports would join them in designing their spaces thinking in the traveller's experience.
